Our Sustainability news

2026-01- 13 - HL awarded HL achieves B score in CDP Climate Disclosure

We can now share our very first CDP score, and it’s a great one!
To achieve a B for climate change response is uncommon, especially in the first year, and we are very proud and grateful.

This shows that we have solid climate management practices in place and that we are actively working with emissions across all scopes.

The score is supported by strong results across several areas in our report, including A ratings for Energy, Scope 1 and 2 emissions, Scope 3 emissions, Targets, Risk and Opportunity disclosure, and Environmental Policies. More about our sustainability work.

About CDP :
CDP is a global, non-profit organisation that runs the world’s leading environmental disclosure system. Companies report through CDP to measure, manage and share their impact on climate change, water security and deforestation.

Disclosing through CDP is an important step for us at HL. It’s about being open, clear on where we stand, and continuing to move forward with our sustainability work.

2025-06-12 - HL awarded the EcoVadis Gold Medal

We’re proud to announce that HL has been awarded the EcoVadis Gold Medal in Sustainability Rating, with our score placing us in the top 2% of companies assessed globally.

The EcoVadis Gold Medal is awarded to companies that demonstrate strong and consistent efforts in sustainability. It validates performance across four key areas:

  • Environment
  • Labour & Human Rights
  • Ethics
  • Sustainable Procurement

To achieve the gold rating, a company must go beyond compliance, showing robust policies and actions that create real impact.

2025-02-13 - Replacing 800 tonnes of virgin plastic with recycled plastic

We are proud to announce that during 2025, up to 20% of all PVC used in our Sundsvall factory will be sourced from recycled material.
This means that in 2025, we will replace approximately 800 tonnes of virgin plastic with partially recycled plastic when producing new products like our datastrips and ESL holders!

2025-01-23 - Avoiding 56 tonnes of virgin plastic

At HL, we’re proud to partner with VusionGroup, a global provider in digitalisation solutions for commerce, with a shared vision to bring more sustainable solutions to the retail industry.

“VusionGroup and HL aim to set a new benchmark for circularity and responsibility in our industry. As leaders in our fields, we must pave the way to a more sustainable future. Let’s continue this journey, cherishing our partnership and common values”, says Isabelle Appé, Head of Sustainability Programs.

Over the past few years, our collaboration has delivered several milestones:

♻️ 2022: Our joint sustainability journey began with the introduction of recycled plastic in our rail holders for Electronic Shelf Labels (ESL).
♻️ 2023: We reached a key milestone by integrating 30% recycled plastic into the rear part.
♻️ 2024: We’re excited to announce that the R6 range now incorporates 20% recycled plastic in the front part, reaffirming our dedication to innovation and sustainability.

By the end of 2024, our efforts have saved 51 tons of CO2e, while also avoiding the use of 56 tons of virgin plastic in production. Thank you for this successful partnership, Vusion!
